Church of Agios Markos in Vlasti

The Church of Agios Markos in Vlasti, built in 1856 with a donation from the Louvriotis brothers, is an important religious and architectural monument of the region. It is an excellent example of the basilical style, with three naves divided by columns and three entrances, although it does not have a dome.

The bell tower, built in 1930, which dominates the village, remains the main characteristic feature of the church. Despite the severe damage it suffered, particularly from the 1993 fire, the church was carefully restored and rebuilt in 1997, maintaining its original character. Inside, the rich frescoes and the metal plaque detailing its history add special value to the space.

The revival of the church was carried out with the blessing of the Metropolitan of Siatista and Sisani, Antonios, enhancing its religious and cultural significance. Today, the Church of Agios Markos remains the largest ecclesiastical building in Vlasti, serving as a place of worship and a cultural landmark for the community.
