Church of Agios Nikolaos of Magaleio in Kastoria

The Church of Agios Nikolaos of Magaleio, one of the most significant Byzantine churches in Kastoria, dates back to the 16th century and is located in the Magaleio area, near the city's lake. It is a small, single-nave church belonging to the type of a basilica with a wooden roof, characteristic of post-Byzantine churches. Its architecture is simple, featuring stone masonry with mud as a binding material, and includes a narthex on the western side.

The church's interior is adorned with rich frescoes from the late Byzantine and post-Byzantine periods. Although some of the frescoes have suffered damage over time, they depict scenes from the life of Agios Nikolaos, as well as representations of saints and Gospel narratives.
